On a Sunday afternoon in Hobart, this group made beautiful music together. Known as a session, one member of the group starts out, ‘follow me’, and the others listen and study, then gradually join in. And for as long as I was watching, it was a different ‘leader’ for each song.
They trusted each other. They each brought something different to the table: experience, history, specialised skill … and beverage of preference.
When they all played, it was brilliant, and they felt it.
No stage required!
This band of music makers is my new metaphor for leadership of a highly functioning team. This is the kind of team I love, pint or no pint.
Hello Kate
I love this metaphor – it encapsulates everything about you.
Best wishes

Thanks NBG. Any opportunity for a metaphor!
